Rontrell Callahan is a proud native of Atlanta, Georgia, and a dedicated music educator with a deep passion for developing student musicians. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Music Education from Tennessee State University, where he also served as a graduate assistant in the Department of Music and with the world-renowned Aristocrat of Bands.
Carlos Williams is a Senior at James Lawson. He started band in 5th grade playing the Saxophone and has been in marching band since 9th grade. He was previously the Saxophone Section leader before becoming the Drum Major for the 2021-2025 marching season.
Gracie Cook is a Senior at James Lawson who began her musical journey in 6th grade. She started marching band in 9th grade and plays the trumpet, guitar, and piano. During her freshman year, she played in the jazz band and plans to rejoin this year. Gracie is also a member of the National Honors Society. She feels that true accomplishments aren’t just about reaching your goals, but also about the hard work you put in and the people who inspire you along the way.
James Storey is a Senior at James Lawson. He has been in band since 5th grade and marching band since 9th. He is also in concert, modern, and jazz bands. He plays piccolo, flute, guitar, and bass. James is also a Student Ambassador at Lawson. He says band has allowed him to meet amazing friends and colleagues. He plans to study music in college.
Haylee Martin is a Senior at James Lawson. Not only does she dance, but she plays guitar, bass, and sings. Haylee is also a member of the track & field team. Band and majorette has brought out her real passion for dance and created a safe space for her to be happy.
Elizabeth Huam is a Junior at James Lawson. In addition to Color Guard, she plays violin and piano. Elizabeth is also a Student Ambassador and plays for the Lawson tennis team. The arts help her express herself. She believes joy is found in bonds formed among individuals working towards similar passions. Elizabeth plans to pursue Pharmacy.
Charlotte Baty is a Senior at James Lawson. She has been in band since the 5th grade and marching band since 10th grade, along with Modern Band since 8th grade. Charlotte plays trombone, snare, and bass guitar. Band has taught her that you can find friends anywhere and that music is what matters most to her.
Wesley Minnis is a Junior tuba player who joined marching band in 9th grade. He's been in concert band since 7th grade. Wesley is also a member of James Lawson's golf team. Band has taught them that music is an art, an art that gives one their truth.
Hayden Keith is a Junior at James Lawson High School. She has been in band since 5th grade and marching band since 9th grade. She is a part of concert band and theatre. Hayden is also a photographer for Lawson’s sports program. Band has taught her a sense of community and has become a home to her over the past year.
Kate Robison is a Junior at James Lawson. She has been in band since 5th grade and marching band since 9th. This year she will join band’s Tech Crew. Kate plays Mellophone. She is also involved with the Lawson Techies for the Lawson Performing Arts Center. She is excited to take her behind the scenes knowledge to the James Lawson Band Tech Crew and grow as a musician.

Jeremy Lemke is a Senior at James Lawson. He has been in band since 6th grade and marching band since freshman year. Jeremy is also the Student Technical Director and Lighting Designer for the Lawson Performing Arts Center, a Student Ambassador, and manages the Instagram account for 3 Lawson groups. Jeremy plays trombone and trumpet, and is excited to move on to the James Lawson Color Guard. He loves learning new things and helping others improve to put on the best performances. He has met many great people through band and cannot wait to see who he meets this year.
Sylvie Nguyen is a Senior at James Lawson. She has been in the Lawson's Color Guard since 9th grade and has also been part of the band’s Tech/Librarian Crew. She plays trumpet and clarinet. She is excited to continue working with the band and grow as a musician.
Becca Hill is a Junior at James Lawson. Becca has been in band since 5th grade and marching band since 9th. This year they will join the band’s Tech Crew. Becca plays Baritone and is excited to join the Tech Crew and make this the best year for the James Lawson Marching Band.
